Consuming a balanced diet is important, and is particularly true in successful weight management programs. Less known is that proteins have a higher satiating effect, which means people tend to eat less of it, contributing to an even lower calorie intake. Proteins also help prevent the loss of muscle mass, which is particularly important for the elderly or chronically ill.

These nutritional facts drove forward the Darling Ingredients’ Food Reformulation program, done in collaboration with NIZO Food Research. The program's goal was to reduce the fat content in food products by up to 25% while retaining the desirable sensory properties of fats (i.e., its smoothness, juiciness).

SAFE AND SUSTAINABLE FOOD INGREDIENTS,

As population growth continues to rise, so does the demand for proteins. Value-added proteins from animal by-products reduce the demand on other protein sources.

WITH BETTER NUTRITIONAL PROFILES,

We encourage a lower calorie intake and contribute to reducing the pressure on healthcare services.

THAT HELP PEOPLE STAY HEALTHY AND MOBILE.

Helping consumers meet their dietary and culinary requires using healthier products, contributing to improved overall health and enabling the elderly to remain active longer.

“WE ARE INVESTIGATING PROTEINS IN THEIR BROADEST SENSE TO OFFER THE MARKETS MORE POSSIBILITIES TO BENEFIT FROM ANIMAL PROTEINS”
