IN A WORLD OF LIMITED NATURAL RESOURCES, WE MUST STRIVE TO MAXIMIZE THEIR USE
Repurposing our natural resources into sustainable ingredients is what we do, thereby achieving substantial carbon footprint reduction in the supply chain. We serve as stewards for our environment and constantly strive for further improvement by reducing our energy use and increasing renewable energy production.
Our contribution to clean air and water is highlighted in three cases that show how we commit to our promise:
“We use state-of-the-art technologies to minimize our use of energy and water. In fact, some of our plants don’t just consume energy – they also produce it, burning processed fats and other by-products to power processes or provide energy to our operations and to local communities. Our wastewater is treated by systems that can generate biogas as fuel, provide recycled water for use in plant operations, support the replenishment of water to green zones in safe, eco-friendly habitats, or be returned as clean water to the environment through crop irrigation and discharges to surface water.”
