EMERGENCY AID FOR OUR OWN AFTER RAGING WILDFIRES IN TEXAS

As part of our company’s commitment to giving back to our communities, we ensure we are also there for our own employees in times of need. In 2011, when an area of central Texas east of the state capitol was hit by devastating wildfires, thousands were left homeless. The fire began on September 4 and by October 1 it had destroyed 1,645 homes and burned 34,068 acres.

Fortunately, our processing facility in Bastrop, Texas was not damaged, but some of our workers from the site lost their homes to the fire. Our company and employees from around the nation pulled together, donating truckloads of goods and perishables and over $45,000 in cash donations to help their co-workers and others in the community.

BEING A GOOD NEIGHBOR MEANS MORE THAN JUST LIVING CLOSE BY. WE ARE CLOSELY TIED TO OUR LOCAL COMMUNITY. CONTRIBUTING TO A BETTER OUTLOOK FOR THOSE LEFT HOMELESS BY COMING TOGETHER AS A COMPANY WAS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
